We had a super time down in Valentia. Weather cleared up lovely for last few days. Blue skies and snow capped mountains. Fabulous. Didn't make the water feel any warmer for the swim on New Years day though! We'll definitely be back at some stage. BL (IRE) 12/09

Thanks for the use of the Coast Guard patch over the last two weeks. The house is one of the best I ever stayed in. It is cosy, warm and has everything one would need; above all else it has those views which are, with the ever changing sea, different each morning. The cottage makes an excellent base for travelling out to other places and is always a pleasure to come back to in the evening. On a couple of evenings we lit the fire which was great reminding us once again that sitting in front of an open fire is one of life's great pleasures. AF (IRE) 07/09

Just a quick note to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at Coastguard Patch.  It's a beautiful location and a very comfortable cottage.  Your restaurant recommendations were great.  We had the freshest seafood at O'Neills and the Moorings and the Lighthouse Café is a lovely spot as well.  Thanks again for your help with all our various pre-vacation questions.  SC (USA) 08/09

Sorry for not writing sooner…We had a wonderful time, thanks. About the house what can I say? It was undoubtedly the most amazing house we've ever rented, from the tasteful decoration to the surroundings...It's got to be one of the best views in Ireland...Congratulations on this little gem of a house. It was also very cool to see the pics of its building process as I'm an architect myself. It's a great job, it looks like it's been there forever. We travel quite a bit and like the self-catering route so we're pretty used to beautiful but spartan setups. But your house looked very cozy and clean, like there actually was someone living in it. The couches were very comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. Surprisingly enough it only rained a couple of days but it was great to have cable tv for the odd film.  Also there was great information in the folders about restaurants and attractions. We felt like we had to pay a visit to the little museum in Knightstown after reading about it and felt rewarded because the museum is so interesting! The trip to the Skelligs was mandatory as well, what a place! 05/08

Hi Jack we had a great time - we very lucky with the weather and spent alot of the week outdoors walking and we got to visit Skeillig which we'd wanted to do for ages..Your house is lovely, and deceptively big. I was wondering if you get to use it much yourself. Thanks and Regards, M 05/08

HI Rory, Just got back from a great week in Valentia despite the best efforts of a fretful weather god! Enjoyed the house very much, well equipped, in a beautiful location, well designed to fit in the location (or so my architect says) - overall very pleased. ….Freezer now well stocked with fish of all kinds and the blackberry jam is bubbling on the stove - a real Kerry harvest!
